What is the DevHub community?

DevHub is a French-speaking developer community (~280 members) focused on technical mutual aid, learning to program (notably Python and the Web), sharing projects, and voice classes every Saturday.

When do the free programming classes take place?

Programming classes and workshops take place every Saturday evening at 9 pm (Paris time) in voice chat on the DevHub Discord server. They are completely free and open to all levels.

DevHub Community is a personal, volunteer-run, non-profit website that supports the Discord community of the same name.

Personal data (GDPR)

The data controller is the site publisher (see above). Here is, plainly, everything the site and the DevHub Discord bot record.

Discord sign-in (member- and staff-only pages): Discord ID, username, avatar, roles on the server	To check you are a member of the server (and staff for the statistics). We read neither your private messages, nor your email, nor your other servers.	Session + 30-day cookie, cleared on sign-out. Membership is re-checked once a day.
Visit statistics: page viewed, hashed IP address (irreversible, salted), referrer, device type, browser	To know which pages are read. No direct identifier, no profiling.	Kept in aggregate form.
Activity on the Discord server (collected by the DevHub bot, for server members): username, avatar, status, message count, channels, excerpts of public messages, voice time, daily presence, activity points	To run the community: activity ranking, contests, staff dashboard (moderation, animation).	While you are a member of the server. Deleted on request.
AI-generated profile summary (from your public messages on the server, via the Mistral AI API)	To give the staff an overview of a member's interests (help, pointing to the right channels). Visible to staff only.	Regenerated periodically; deleted with the profile.

Who can access it? The site owner and the DevHub staff (moderators and above), only for the purposes above. No data is sold or shared with advertisers.

Third-party services used by your browser or by the site:

Discord (discord.com) — OAuth sign-in and the “members online” widget on the home page (sandboxed iframe). Discord policy.
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — Inter typeface. Google receives your IP address when the font loads. Google policy.
cdnjs / Cloudflare — Font Awesome icons. Cloudflare policy.
Mistral AI (api.mistral.ai, France) — profile summaries, sorting of announcements and English translation of server content. Mistral policy.

Cookies & local storage

The site uses no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies are technical ones (exempt from consent), hence no banner:

The Discord widget on the home page loads in an isolated iframe (sandbox): it cannot read the site's cookies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing — for instance ask the bot to stop recording your activity on the server, or ask for your profile and its AI summary to be deleted.

Just write through the contact form or send a private message to a staff member on Discord, stating your Discord username. Reply within one month at most.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

Usage rules

The site and the Discord server are spaces for developers helping each other: respect, kindness, no harassment and no illegal content.
The contact form is for genuine requests (classes, projects, partnerships). Automated or abusive submissions are blocked and ignored.
Restricted pages (ranking, statistics) are reachable only through your Discord account; do not share your access.
The full server rules are posted on the Discord server itself and prevail for everything that happens there.

Content & intellectual property

Articles and the site code are written by the publisher and the community. You may quote and share them with attribution (a link to the page). Projects shown in the showcase remain the property of their authors.

Brands and logos mentioned (Discord, Python, etc.) belong to their respective owners.

AI crawlers and search engines may read the public content of the site: see /llms.txt and /ai.txt.

Report a security vulnerability

Found a vulnerability in the site, the bot or the infrastructure? Please report it privately (contact form or private message to the staff on Discord) rather than publicly, and allow a reasonable time to fix it. No exploitation beyond the proof, no access to other members' data.

This policy is also published in /.well-known/security.txt. Serious reports are credited in /humans.txt if you wish.
